Overcoming Fear: Empowering Christian Moms Called to Entrepreneurship.
Discover how biblical truths can help Christian moms overcome their fears and thrive as entrepreneurs.
Before we dive into today’s topic, I want to share a personal story. I remember when I wanted to start a business, and I had little kids at home. My desire to stay home with my kids and not have to go back into the workplace was so strong, but I was met with so much fear and overwhelm before I even started. I wasn’t sure what to do or how I was going to manage everything, and this fear actually held me back for a couple of years.
Sure, I dabbled and bought courses, and I technically marketed myself, but anytime things got hard or life just happened, I fell back into my old ways. I spent a couple of years in this space of being overwhelmed and uncertain about how I was going to figure this all out. So after investing a good chunk of money into a coaching program, I found myself yet again struggling with fear and a lack of purpose. So I finally had a talk with the Lord and surrendered my business to Him.
Surrendering to Faith
The funny thing is that I was already walking in faith in all other areas of my life, but I had a misconception that my business was separate or that I was responsible for making it happen. If you missed episode 2, I talked about surrendering your business to God and the weight that is lifted when you do. You can also read the blog here
Today, I want to explore how you can overcome your fears and find strength in your faith as we navigate this journey in the world of entrepreneurship as a mom.
Common Fears Christian Moms in Business Face
Have you felt the weight of fear holding you back from pursuing your dreams as a Christian mom? Fear is a common adversary, but what if I told you that biblical truths can be your armor against it? Being a mom in business comes with its own set of challenges and fears. Let’s explore these fears that often paralyze us and how we can replace them with strength found in our faith.
Fear of Inadequacy
Many moms feel ill-equipped to handle the business alongside their parenting responsibilities, marriages, and perhaps even a day job. It’s normal to question whether you have what it takes to succeed in both roles.
Biblical Truth: “Such confidence we have through Christ before God. Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God” (2 Corinthians 3:4-5).
Fear of Time Management
Balancing family, business, and personal time can be a juggling act, and there’s never a perfect balance.
Biblical Truth: “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans” (Proverbs 16:3). “In their hearts, humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps” (Proverbs 16:9).
Fear of Failure
The idea of not succeeding and the potential impact on the family can be overwhelming. Let’s reframe failure as part of the journey and draw strength from biblical truth.
Biblical Truth: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him” (Romans 8:28).
